GARLIC MASHED POTATOES

Here's a recipe for creamy, delicious garlic mashed potatoes. It's got to be one of my family's favorite things. You can have these with beef, chicken or just by themselves! I always make lots so we have some for leftovers the next day. Simply delicious!

Simple ingredients for a delicious experience!

In case your were thinking this was onion or something, it's not. Yes, that's garlic! I am using 8 potatoes, so I've diced about 9 cloves of garlic!

Melt the butter and add the garlic. Saute for 4-5 minutes.

It should look nice and golden brown. Mmmmmm....

Peel and dice the potatoes. Put in a pot of boiling water and cook until soft.

Drain the potatoes, do not rinse.

Put them in a mixer or other large bowl. Add all the ingredients.

Mix until everything is blended well. Don't overmix though or you'll have glue, not good.

These smell so good I want to just dive in and eat them right now.

Scoop them out into an oven safe dish and top with parmesan.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes or until you can see the peaks getting nice and golden brown. Remove from oven and serve hot. Enjoy!

Charene Whorton 2011

Ingredients

6-8 yukon gold potatoes

6-8 cloves garlic

1 stick butter + 2 T butter

1/2 cup milk or cream

4 ounces cream cheese

1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Peel and cube potatoes. Boil about 10 minutes or
until soft. Drain and put in bowl or mixer.

Mince garlic. Melt butter and sauté garlic until
golden brown, 3-4 minutes.

Add to potatoes, garlic butter, remaining stick of
butter, cream cheese, milk and parmesan.

Mash potatoes until well blended, but don’t mash too
much or you’ll end up with gluey potatoes.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Scoop potatoes into baking dish and sprinkle with a
little additional parmesan.

Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered for about 25 minutes
or until nice and hot.

Remove from oven and serve.
